Nana's Visit

This past week, my mom (Nana H.) came to visit us. She came on Tuesday evening, and just left today--Sunday. We had a great time together...shopping, playing, and taking pictures. Nana LOVES taking 10,000 pictures, so we got a lot of great ones from her visit. Abby is becoming more and more alert, cooing, and smiling. It's so fun to talk to her. We would lay her down on the changing table, and Abby would talk to us for 15min. or more. Her bouncy seat is her other favorite place to have conversations! We got some cute pictures during these moments.

On the changing table...
Hi! (Check out my bunny shoes!)
I like to smile... (it's hard to catch me in the act of it, though!)

I'm only going to half smile...(to get you people out of my face!) My "O" face...

High five!

This is the blanket my Aunt Alice made for me...isn't it wonderful?!?!

Riding in the car...

I love to be with Mommy and Daddy!

Not the sharpest crayon in the box!

My sweet little Sandy girl....she has some issues ;-) Whenever I'm changing Abby on her changing table, there is a small little nook in between the rocking chair and the changing table where Sandy always sits. But just the other night, she decided to be clever and army crawl herself UNDER the actual crib itself. That's all fine and good, however, when it came to crawling back OUT, she couldn't do it. Her collar would touch the crib as she was attempting to crawl out, and this would scare her and she'd back up again. This became a video/picture opportunity for us! It was hilarious! Josh literally had to lay on his stomach and push Sandy's body down to drag her out from under the bed. It was a tight squeeze. I hugged her when she got out and chased her around the house a bit. THEN, what did Sandy do?!?!? She went right back under the bed again! We decided if it's that easy for her to get under there, then she's going to need to figure out how to get out on her own. Sure enough, I think she was just teasing us before because she had NO problems getting out! What a little stink pot!

In bath news...

Giving Abby a bath has become a bit better. She doesn't look like she's totally enjoying herself, but she definitely isn't wailing the whole time either. She's kept us on our toes lately that's for sure. On two different occassions I was lucky enough for her to pee on me as soon as I got her wrapped in a towel. At first I thought, she can't be dripping that much from the bath...then I quickly thought, it wasn't that warm, either! It ran down my shirt, pants, and puddled onto the floor. Abby seemed pretty relaxed after that!

The most entertaining one recently is when she decided to POOP in the tub. That's right, poop! I thought she just tooted, but I looked at Josh and said, "That really stinks." I lifted her up, and started saying "AAAHHH, she pooped!" Josh is saying, "What do we do?!?!" I quickly transfer her to the big tub, to where she's not finished going--she's so slippery from being soapy and wet...we're trying to finish getting the soap off of her. Yeah, that was an experience. Josh's mom was here for this moment, and she helped Josh clean up the tub, while I got Abby dryed off and cleaned up. From what I heard later, Josh would not put his hand in Abby's little tub to drain the water out--Josh's mom had to do it. I talked to Josh about this, and he said he would've had to get gloves on first! That cracks me up!

I really love the hooded towls, though. I think Abby likes them, too!

Where's Daddy?

It's Father's Day, and poor Josh didn't get to spend it at home with his girls. He's had to work the whole weekend from 8am-8pm. I really shouldn't complain because he RARELY has to work weekends, but this is his very FIRST Father's Day, and he doesn't get to enjoy it at home with Abby. We'll have to do something special later on! In honor of father's....I must mention my own dad because I have the best dad in the world!! Dad, thank you for being so amazing and fun!

Abby and I went to church by ourselves, and of course I had to put her in a little dress for the occasion (with shoes, too!). I took pictures of her when I got home, and just like the last post...once I got her situated for the picture, she started crying. And just like last time, I kept taking the pictures anyway :-)

First we attempted picture taking in the round chair--with pacifer in mouth...
Then, I was assiting her to stay in the corner of the red chair....
Then she started becoming unhappy...
THEN she got down right mad!

(Is it totally horrible of me that her crying pictures completely crack me up?!?!)
Later, we had a bottle, and she wanted to sit-up and look around...

I was beside her on the couch, and this face looks like it's saying "Whatcha' doin' mommy?"

Plain Cruel

That's right. I took pictures of Abby when she was crying because I was really wanting to get pictures of her outfit. I was going to have to change the outfit soon because she had been spitting up on it all day. She's worn these pants one other time, but I never remembered to take pictures of her in them. This was my best opportunity, and as soon as I posed her where I wanted her--she just had to start crying. So, I kept on snapping the pictures anyway!

Cute pants, right?!?! She's thinking--get out of my face!! Look at that double chin, bottom lip down face!

Besides just this cruelty I made Abby endure, her Daddy decided after her bath he would play with her little cheeks. Want to see what that looks like?

So cozy...

Abby is doing really well at night sleeping. We're usually having about 4-4 1/2 hour stretches of sleep, which is beautiful! She's not the greatest napper during the day, though. She may be awake for 3-4 hours straight. This is why I sometimes think she sleeps so well at night because she doesn't sleep much during the day. But hey, if you're going to be awake, DAYTIME is the time to do it, rather than keeping us up at night. We've had a few instances at night where after a feeding she decides she is wide awake. As cute as she may be, this is not cute at 3am :-)

Just yesterday she did fall asleep on the couch, and I got some of the sweetest pictures...

Abby's sister definitely likes joining in on some napping. I think Sandy could possibly be a cat at heart, considering she LOVES lounging in the window sill.

Abby definitely likes to be swaddled tight, too. Every night when she goes to bed, we wrap her up in a blanket, and she drifts off into sweet dreams. We wrap her arms up in the blanket, too, but it never lasts very long. She always wiggles them out! This picture is actually after her morning feeding and diaper change...she looks a bit mischevious, I think ;-)

Superstar!

Doesn't this picture say it all?!?! I love how she did her arms like that :-)
Here are some other random pictures taken throughout the week....

My pretty pink dress. I love my daddy! Hello world!

Child of God!

Abby went to church for the very first time today. She is exactly one month old and she was ready for the adventure. I am pleased to say she was very well behaved. She got a bottle during Sunday School and slept through her Daddy's entire lesson. Even the IMPACT band during the service didn't wake her up. We had to take a family picture after the service to share with everybody. Also this weekend we took Abby out to eat for the first time. Of course she had to experience the greatest restaurant known to man - Tin Roof BBQ. We always sit outside at Tin Roof and she seemed to enjoy the fresh air. So this evening we decided to take her for a walk. She feel asleep about half way down the block and slept the rest of the walk, but at least Sandy enjoyed all the outdoor sights and smells.

Ready to rock 'n roll!

Abby's Photo Shoot

So yesterday I was in the mood to take pictures of Abby. She was OUT like a light, so I decided to put her in an adorable little dress and start snapping pictures like crazy. What really cracks me up about this, is that I was able to move her all around and she never once woke up. If I attempt to lay her down at night, she IMMEDIATELY wakes up! Go figure, right?!?

I'm taking requests if anyone would like me to take pictures of their children, ha! I admit, many of these pictures might be "similar" but you have to see her from all different angles. So, yes, I am posting quite a few pictures, but she's so darn cute, I can't help it :-)
