All in a days work

Abby sure is busy these days. She's getting quick in this scooting thing she does. She likes to pull things out, whether it be blankets from a shelf, cards out of a basket, books from underneath the coffee table, the tissue box from the end table, etc., etc.

Here's a look at a few things she's been up to...

She managed to get the strap of my bag over her shoulder!
I have a basket FULL of cards, and this is what it looks like now...For Karen--can you see that she's looking at ya'lls?? She recognized you in the picture, and she had to stop to admire it :-)
Her most favorite door stop--see how it looks now? It's no longer attached to the wall! And just so you know...that took all of about 4 sec. to get off. Either she's that strong or the door stop was put on that poorly.She loves the buttons on the calculator.One of her many quirks...when she eats, she always has to have her right foot up on the underneath part of the tray like that...
Lately, I've been able to put these cute little clips in Abby's hair. She has just enough hair to hold them. I love it!We had to go to the Dr. yesterday because she's been having congestion and this persistent cough. The cough started interrupting her night sleep, and that is where I draw the line! She has a sinus infection, and she's on antibotics, so she should be good to go in no time. She did have to get blood drawn (this was supposed to happen at her 9mo. appt., but the nurse who was to do it was out.) This was worse than the shots because the nurse has to sit there and pull on her finger to make the blood keep coming out to fill the container. Abby did NOT like that one bit. But she ended up with this super cool thing on her finger that she played with for some time. (Although the nurse told me not to let her play with it or to let her put it in her mouth. I'm thinking, "Does she not realize she's 9mo. old and that's what they do with EVERYTHING!")
I haven't done a video in what feels like FOR-EV-ER. I have tons of random video clips on the computer right now, so this is definitely a hodge podge of things.

Rewind to Feburary 7-10. My parents had come into town that weekend, (I've already posted pictures from my camera--the pictures of Abby in the brown & pink by the flowers). My mom takes billions of pictures, and I now have them in my possession...so it requires a new post for them :-)

My dad, better known as Pop to Abby, loves getting down on the floor and playing with Abby (and Sandy for that matter!). Abby is always full of smiles for her Pop. Pop likes to stack toys for her to knock over....notice how big her eyes get going after a toy (3rd picture).

I think she's trying to say, "Oh mom, cut it out!"
This one is just for those eyes...I love them!
Considering it's getting close to swimsuit season, I've been looking for a sweet one for Abby. My mom found her this one, which I love, but the sizes were hard for me. This one fits her too perfectly now, which tells me it won't fit her at the end of summer--so it has to go back to the store. But we had to get a picture of her in it before that happened!Here's her official one...isn't it super cute?
When my parents are in town, they love to watch her wake up. She's so super happy in the morning. One of her many silly expressions....everyone is looking over the crib at her, and I think she's thinking "OH how I love all this attention!"My mom, dad, Abby, and I ventured over to the Katy Mills mall on Friday. It's so fabulous to go during the week because it was barely busy! We ended up having lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. I had never eaten there before...it was a great place. Some kids were crying when all the animals were "brought to life," other were totally fascinated. As of the moment, Abby is fascinated. If she's anything like me when I was little--that won't last long :-) (I was terrified of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Chuck E. Cheese...you name it, and I screamed at it! Fun times!) The 2nd picture is specifically taken for Joanna! Joanna, we thought of you immediately when we saw it, and Abby said she wanted to take a picture of it for you.
I just had to post these 2 pictures to show mom and daughter. Look at our mouths...it cracked me up! A Young Girl's First Tea Party

One day my mother was out, and my dad was in charge of me and my brother who is four years older than I am. I was maybe 1 and a half years old and had just recovered from an accident in which my arm had been broken, among other injuries. Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get well gift, and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news, and my brother was playing nearby in the living room when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea because it was just the cutest thing!! My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy, and she watches him drink it up, then says, "Did it ever occur to you that the only place that baby can reach to get water is the toilet?!?!"

9 months young

Yesterday marked Abby's 9 month birthday. Seriously, the days are going by ridiculously fast.

Some of Abby's favorite things right now:

1. Clicking her tongue
2. Waving
3. Putting her head far to the side
4. Saying dada
5. How big is Abby? So big! (Pictures to follow!)
6. Making the most hilarious, smiling face (I'm trying to capture it on video so you can fully understand what I'm talking about--there is no way to explain it)
7. Army crawling or rolling everywhere
8. Playing with everything that is not a toy
9. Shaking things up and down
10. Scratching her fingers on things to hear the noise it makes

Those are the most predominant things I can think of at the moment.

This past weekend my parents came to visit. As usual, my mom and I did a little photo shoot of Abby. Abby is now at an age where she is far too distracted to actually pay me any attention. She was pulling the grass, feeling the flowers, playing with her shoes, staring down the ONE person that walked by until they were out of site, etc., etc., etc.....

Well, Walgreens had a great deal going on so I was desperate for a few GREAT shots! I got 1 8x10, 2 5x7, and 4 4x6 for absolutely FREE by typing in the code Valentine. Here are a few of the pictures we got of Abby....she's full of interesting facial expressions and poses (or she's too busy to even try) :-)

These pictures were taken in absolute order--this is all she kept doing over and over and over. She puts her hands up, then hits them against her belly, up again, down again...you see the pattern!
