Being Behind Part 3

Sometimes before I even put Abby in a dress, I know I will want to get a picture because I think the dress is just too cute. Sadly, I don't think these pictures really do it justice. To me, this dress is just precious! Granted my child isn't really looking, or she's giving the super goob smile, but you at least see a bit of it :)
These next pictures are from Abby's first day of school for the summer session. First let me say, my child thrives on routine. When the school year was up for "summer" she was doing SO good at just walking into the room and playing with her friends. Now I'm practically starting all over again. We've been out of the school routine for about a month...just waiting for the summer session to start. Which means she hasn't really left me much for all that time. Sure we've had some church stuff to go to, but no longer than a few hours, y'know? Oh, she's so upset when I drop her off right now. Can I just begin to express how much I hate that? She makes me feel so awful. Obvioulsy, and like always, the good news is the teachers say it never lasts but for a few seconds, and the little report I get at the end of the day always says she's been happy and playful. But c'mon girlfriend, don't make me feel so terrible the second I leave you!

Just so you know, in her hand is this giraffe balloon that she got a mexican restaurant. She loves this little balloon, and on this particular day she would not put it down for picture purposes, which is fine...I'm just saying :)

Um, big giraffe neck got in the way here!

Whew, 3 posts today! And Abby just woke up...I feel so accomplished :)

Being Behind Part 2

I've had two party type things (one a baby shower and one a going away party) go on within the past month.

The baby shower was for my friend, Michelle, who is due to have Miller any day now! We're getting so excited for his arrival. This shower was in Bossier at my parents house, and my mom and I threw it for her. I've thrown lots of baby showers as of lately with all my friends here, and I'm so used to each person having a specific role. When it's just 2 people, it makes for a lot more work. Don't get me wrong, though--it's still super fun! Everytime I've thrown a shower with friends here, we pick a theme. So, of course, when my mom and I started talking about the shower, my mind immediately went to "What's the theme going to be?" Let me just say, when I get into a theme, I really like to get into a theme! The theme we decided on was baby elephants--I've just always liked little blue elephants, and honestly, I had no idea if Michelle did, but dangit, she was going to like this! :)
In the dining room, the view of the whole table. We even had little elephant napkins!

Pictures of Michelle and John, "the parents-to-be" on the table.

In the kitchen, where the drinks were. In the living room, the diaper cake my mom and I made.
This banner I bought off Etsy. Love the work this woman does...so cute!
The hostesses.

The second party was at my own house. It was a going away party for our good friends, Matt and Kim. Although this party wasn't nearly as exciting to me (sorry guys!), but going away parties aren't as pleasurable because, well...you are going away and just where is the fun in that?!? So the deal is our friends moved to the Austin area so Matt could go to UT to get his doctorate in something that's over my head (over achiever! jk jk!!), but they both first graduated from A&M. Obviously the loyalty stays with A&M, but it was only appropriate to have a WHOLE lot of UT stuff out (because remember, I like to get into a theme!), and that's where they'll be the next 5 years, anyway. It's only been almost 2 weeks since they left, but we miss them something bad!!! Abby calls Caleb "wub" and the other day she said "wub bye-bye." Maybe she's starting to realize she hasn't seen him in awhile?!? She started talking about Matt today, too...for whatever reason, they've popped into her head. Anyway, we love you, Ege's! :)

This same door is what I always decorate for Abby's birthday, but this time I made it over UT style.

Big thanks to Jill for all the UT decorations!

Being Behind Part 1

I hate being behind in posting pictures. I always get behind, but I don't just want to pick up with where I am or you won't be able to see cuteness from where we were :) Not that we were anywhere specifically...just what was going on that day or something cute Abby had on that I wanted to take pictures of!

So for instance, this particular day, which I don't remember what the date was at all--oh but wait, my cool properties option on my computer tells me I took these pictures on June 2. So there you go, almost a month later I'm posting them. Nice.

There is no rhyme or reason for any of these. I just thought this dress was cute (and so was the child wearing it!)
The full concentration face.

Oh, how she loves to walk barefoot now!

She uses her little telescope like a microphone!
"Whatcha see under there, Sandy?"
Not quite ready to come in, even though I've asked her to...a LOT.

And how I found her the next morning...snoozing away. Tough life she leads, wouldn't ya say?

Abby in the Box

These pictures kinda speak for themselves.

I love her sweet little ponytail, too :)

She did a LOT of trying to get into this box...all kinds of different angles. So hilarious to watch--she was bound and determined!

I'm a sucker for seersucker!

OK, 2 things I think are absolutely adorable on little girls.

1. Seersucker
2. The criss-cross (that I've mentioned before) in the back

What about an outfit that combines them both?!? Oh, how I love it! :) I love when she sits like this! The other night she was trying to prolong bedtime, and she ran into her playroom, and Josh said "Don't sit down!" So...she did this! :)

Another seersucker outfit. No criss-cross in the back, but still so very cute!
I still can't get over all that hair!!!
We took care of our friends dog last week. His name is Baxter (the dog, not the friend). Anyway, Abby always asks for Sandy to get in her bed with her, and I didn't want Baxter to feel left out--so he got to join the fun, too :)
Baxter didn't seem too impressed, but Abby thought it was grand!
